Brent Taggart
Co-Founder
Brent was Chief Strategy Officer and President of the Community and Content Division for Promethean World, architecting their global expansion strategy through IPO and building and managing the 1.5M member Promethean Planet online teaching community. More recently he launched Education First’s blended learning courseware and platform EF Class, and was COO at language learning app Busuu.
Jay Raines
Co-Founder
Jay is an accomplished entrepreneur and sales leader with a track record of driving rapid growth and successful acquisitions. Prior to co-founding Beyond Labz and Meru Interactive, Jay played a key role in the rapid sales growth and market adoption of Compliance11, which led to its strategic acquisition by Charles Schwab.
Dr. Brian Woodfield
Co-Founder
Brian is a Chemistry professor at BYU, with over 190 published works. He is also the founder and developer of one of the most successful virtual lab products to date (“Virtual Chemlab”), distributed by Pearson and used by over 1M students.
Dustin Nielsen
Lead Architect
Dustin leads Engineering, and previously worked with Doug and Jay at Meru Interactive. Over the past 15 years he has done cutting edge work in mobile apps, 3-D and AR / VR for events and marketing, as well as large-scale, high availability enterprise applications.
Heather Myler
Instructional Design
Heather does a little bit of everything at Beyond Labz… She lives outside of Boston, MA. She loves hiking, cooking and playing board games. She helped create the Virtual Physics labs 15 years ago. She was once Brian’s student, is a former high school teacher and enjoys helping professors and teachers find better ways to help students learn how to love science through inquiry.
Greg Bodily
BYU
Greg is a Senior Software Developer advising on the science portion of the Beyond Labz software. Greg was the primary developer for all of the previously developed Virtual Lab products. He has 20+ years of experience with software development and architecture ranging from small little projects, to science simulations, to enterprise class web sites. He resides in Spanish Fork Utah and enjoys sports, reading, the occasional video game, and keeping up with his wife and 4 busy children.
Rob Allen
BYU
Rob is an Art Director for BYU’s Center for Teaching and Learning creating innovative learning products for over 30 years. For 20 of those years he has worked with Brian creating the Virtual Labs from Chemistry to Physics and Biology. Rob advises on the artistic creation of Beyond Labz unless he can sneak away for some desert rock crawling or whitewater kayaking.
Doug Johnson
Marketing
Doug is the Director of Marketing and Sales for Beyond Labz. Doug formerly worked in the Software and Event Production industries with Jay. He was born, raised and still resides in Springville, Utah, where he enjoys mountain biking and snowboarding throughout the intermountain West in his spare time.
Michael Sederberg
Engineer
Michael is a full stack developer for Beyond Labz. Originally from Utah, he is living in Mexico with his wife and sons. He loves spending time with his family, AR/VR, reading, and biking.
